Tiger vs the field in the Masters

Tiger is basically even money to win the masters, meaning if you bet $10 you will win $10 more.  So if Tiger is even money that means if I bet the rest of the field I should get even money also…No sportsbook in their right mind would give me the field at even money.  Odds makers are too smart to know that the Tiger woods bet IS the sucker bet.  I am too smart to bet on golf in the first place because there are always too many golfers with a good chance of winning on any given sunday.   If anyone out there wants to bet on tiger and I get everyone else let me know….sucker

Very true, but that’s now how golf bets work. Usually what happens is they’ll give you about the top 30 players, each with their individual odds. Then, they have a separate bet, for “everyone else”. Of course this year, “everyone else” would’ve won you $$.

And yes, betting Tiger is the sucker bet, no doubt about that!

    Steve,
You are right but I have a question…Trevor was individually listed so did “the field” include him this year??? I saw one book had him at 125 to 1 and another at 80 to 1.

Kevin - If Trevor was individually listed, then no, the “field” would not include him.
